Oh no it's The Snorkling Goats
Considered the best band that never was, the
Snorkling Goats have a checkered past, the almost constant line
up changes, and long periods of seperation reducing their
productive output to a couple of lines of lyrics, and a hand full
of mangled Guitar chords. Yet this formed the foundation for the
obessive behavoiur for the millions of Goat lovers around the
world. Some people claim that some bands hide their influences in
search of originality, Oasis for example, but with the Goats the
influences are there for all the world to see, the members of the
band often indulging in Silverfish and Half Man Half Biscuit
cover versions during their infrequent street performances, late
at night, after closing time
Formed in the heart of Coventry in the heat of summer, the Goats notourious sound was soon to dominate the Blackwell Cresent scene, their hit single, 'Sympathy for the Goat' (still unrecorded) a masterpiece of the bleak midlands landscape. The core of the band, Steff (Vocals), Sugar (Guitar) and Boris(Height) didn't care about the lack of reviews, music or lyrics stopping their rise to imfamy. Soon never a day passed with those classic words 'Wooo Wooo' passing someones lips, most famously in the opening lyrics to Blur's Song #2, a clear homage to the song the Goats never started writing despite the subtle change in the wording. Influences coming to the fore again, the Goats stamp their mark through out the modern BritPop industry with echoes of 'Spice up your Goat', 'Boys and Goats', and 'Snorking Goats say Whooo Woooo' clearly discernable in the songs that dominate the aural landscape of Britain.
Now, nearly six years later the with new songs in development the Goats welcome new members to the band, Duncan and Helen bringing new facets to the single sided talent that will forever be the Snorkling Goats.
